Cetasea

Environment

Cetasea is a non-profit association under the French law of 1901, which aims to create a refuge for marine mammals: dolphins, seals and sea lions.

Today, 16 member states of the European Union have banned dolphinariums, without creating any new facilities, leading to overcrowding in existing dolphinariums. Moreover, the number of stranded mammals in the Bay of Biscay is rising sharply. CETASEA's mission is totake in these animals and offer them refuge.

Cetasea's work focuses on :

  1. Conservation work
  2. Hosting species protected by the European Union and IUCN
  3. Enhancing a natural site
  4. Research
  5. Education

The association brings together a team of marine mammal professionals: scientists, groomers, veterinarians and conservationists.

" We protect what we know.
