Première Urgence Internationale's mission is to help vulnerable populations, marginalized or excluded by the effects of natural disasters, war or economic collapse, to recover and strengthen their resilience.
Its vision is of a world in which vulnerable communities have both the means to meet major challenges and the ability to shape their own future.
Première Urgence Internationale is a non-profit, non-political and secular international non-governmental organization (INGO) with over 40 years' experience in the humanitarian aid sector.
In the humanitarian emergency, post-emergency and recovery phases, it provides a sustainable and integrated response to the fundamental needs of affected populations, in terms of health, mental health, nutrition, food security and access to means of subsistence, water, hygiene and sanitation, housing, protection and economic recovery.
To guarantee the effectiveness and sustainability of this response, Première Urgence Internationale's actions are implemented in close collaboration with local communities, local civil society organizations, national and local public authorities, and other non-profit organizations.
Each year these are :
6 million people directly affected by Première Urgence Internationale's actions in France and abroad, in 23 countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America
Around 150 projects are carried out by its teams, including in the most difficult and remote areas of the world. More than 85% of its employees are qualified national staff.
Première Urgence Internationale has been intervening since 2015 in eastern Ukraine to bring relief to the population, through emergency health programs and access to primary healthcare, access to water and sanitation, as well as psychosocial and mental health support.
Teams are preparing to scale up the emergency response deployed so far in the Donetsk region, and to strengthen its coordination to assess needs throughout the country, particularly on Ukraine's borders.
We are devastated by what is unfolding before our very eyes in Ukraine. To support this action financially, you can make a donation to Première Urgence Internationale.
